Frequent asked questions
What can I expect during my first appointment?
During your first visit, we will carry out an intake appointment of approximately 20 minutes. The dentist will examine your teeth and gums and assess your oral health. Before the appointment, you will complete a medical questionnaire, which we will discuss if necessary for your safety. If needed, we will take a panoramic X-ray and two additional dental X-rays.
I am afraid of the dentist, what now?
Please feel free to let us know. We take extra time and explain everything calmly, so that you feel comfortable. We schedule appointments for a longer duration to ensure we have enough time for you.
Do you work with my health insurance provider?
Yes, we work with all Dutch health insurance providers. The reimbursement depends on your insurance policy.
I never have any problems with my teeth, do I still need to come?
Yes, even without any complaints, it is important to come for regular check-ups. Problems in the mouth often develop without pain and can therefore be detected and treated in time.
From what age can my children visit the dentist?
Children are welcome from the moment their first tooth appears for an accessible first check-up. By starting at a young age, your child becomes familiar with the dentist, which often makes future visits easier.
What does a dental hygienist do?
The dental hygienist treats and helps prevent gum problems and thoroughly cleans the teeth. The recommended frequency for a professional cleaning is 2 to 4 times per year, depending on your oral hygiene condition.
Does treatment by a dental hygienist always hurt?
No, treatments are usually well tolerated. If you have sensitive teeth or gums, we take this into account and work as comfortably as possible.
Ik heb een kunstgebit, moet ik dan nog komen voor de controle?
It is important to have your dentures checked regularly. The dentist will examine your gums and oral tissues and check whether the dentures still fit properly and are not worn out.
